# Life's Work *By [Ansh Chokshi](https://anshchokshi.com) · Aug 2, 2026 · 2 min read* Canonical: https://anshchokshi.com/write/lifes-work --- 3 am thoughts I once watched a podcast where Jensen Huang said, "When I'm not working, I'm thinking about working. And when I'm working, I'm working. I sit through movies, but I don't remember them." At the time, I took it lightly. Two months into building Mireye, I am living it. Even in my sleep, I am dreaming about work. It is not healthy. I would not say I am happy either. But it is the most meaningful thing I have ever done. Some days I am suffering. Some days I am enduring. Some days I feel like I will conquer the biggest mountain ever. The hardest part is the people. July was the month of birthdays. Almost every day, someone I care about turned a year older. I did not remember to wish a single one. If your birthday passed without a call from me, it was not you. I am sorry. I am still learning how to carry both. I have stopped living the way I used to. I wear the same three outfits. I eat the same meals. I have not opened Robinhood in months. I don't remember the last time I tried something new, but I remember my customers' phone numbers and their kids' names. The cravings I once had are gone. Not suppressed. Gone. You cannot live like this without a reason. Last week in group office hours, we talked about exactly that. The intrinsic reason behind why each of us wants to build a company. Most answers were similar. A chip on the shoulder. Someone to prove wrong. I sat there and realized I have no one. No one has ever told me I couldn't do it. Everyone I have crossed paths with has believed in me, even when it sounded delusional. I am grateful for that. My reason was never to prove anything. I am in a phase of life where I am proud of how far I have come, but at the same time I feel there is a long way to go. I have felt that way since I was a kid. I think differently now about what Jensen said. He was not describing a work ethic. ***He was describing what happens when you find the thing that gets all of you.*** ***I found mine.*** --- More essays by Ansh Chokshi: https://anshchokshi.com/llms.txt
