# Create more than you Consume, Give more than you Take

I am in debt to the world. Every movie, artist, song, show, tutorial, and game has shaped who I am. I have spent a lifetime consuming the brilliance of others. Now, it is time to pay it back.

The shift is humbling. I create something I love and the world stays silent. No impact. No change. I had to shift the goalpost. I started creating for myself first. When I am the audience, I can never be ghosted.

I am in debt to the people who built me. Mentors who saw my potential. Strangers who pointed the way. The mechanic who fixed my car. The doctor who healed me. I have spent a lifetime receiving. Now, it is time to give more than I take.

This goes beyond the single medium or interaction. It is about how I show up in the world. Am I doing my bit for my community? Am I taking care of the person who cuts my hair? It is a decision to be useful instead of just comfortable.

Moving from a life of taking to a life of contributing is a constant, quiet effort. It is the difference between being a guest in the world and being a host.

I am not saying it is going to be easy but what a privilege to be challenged by a life you created on purpose.
